On the occasion of the CAC's Centennial, join fellow artists to capture iconic Long Beach scenes, including city and shore, neighborhoods and beaches. Start painting with us on March 20, then continue painting Long Beach for the next month.
The paint-out will culminate in an exhibition and sale of paintings on the day of the Long Beach Bike Festival, Saturday, May 8. The exhibition will be held at a great storefront "gallery" at the starting line of the race!
NOTE: All artists who submit paintings of Long Beach for the exhibition must submit at least one painting that depicts at least one bicycle in it.
Full details regarding drop-off of paintings will be given up receiving your RSVP at 626/583-9009.
Then, the paintings will be juried and 25 of them will be exhibited at the Long Beach Museum of Art from May 10 - 24!
This is a fun chance for you to capture another wonderful city in California for our Centennial celebration, and to have your artwork viewed during a huge event that draws thousands of people to Long Beach each year.

The CAC is among 50 cultural institutions that have joined forces with the Los Angeles Opera to create a major city-wide cultural festival. This event will be the largest produced in the city since the 1984 Olympics. The month-long program (May 29 - June 26, 2010) will attract thousands of visitors from around the world who
will experience LA's wealth of arts and culture. |

The CAC is very pleased to be part of this historic event.
As our President Peter Adams explains "This exciting event
gives our artists a wonderful opportunity to challenge
themselves in new and different ways. Painters and sculptors
are invited to explore imaginative new approaches to creating
figurative, landscape and even still-life works of art."
This is your opportunity as an artist to challenge
yourself - and help the CAC gain international attention!
